We’re excited to share how the Reach4Life (R4L) programme is making meaningful strides in Togo, thanks to a growing partnership with Compassion International. Compassion Togo has long been dedicated to the holistic development of children and youth spiritually, socially, emotionally, and physically. Their collaboration with Biblica through R4L is now equipping young people with life-changing biblical discipleship, life skills, and values that will serve them for a lifetime.
In November 2024, our Vice President for Africa, Mrs. Lydia Munene, traveled to Togo to witness the programme’s impact firsthand. Her visit was filled with encouragement and purpose as she met with church partners in Atakpamé, where twelve churches are actively implementing R4L with great commitment and energy.
Joined by Biblica’s West Africa Regional Director, Mr. Thomas Amoah, and guided by Mr. Paul Yao GAGLO, Programme Training Manager at Compassion Togo, Mrs. Munene engaged deeply with local leaders. Together, they listened to stories of transformation, discussed challenges, and celebrated the progress being made. The visit served not only to affirm the excellent work already underway, but also to encourage and equip our partners for even greater impact ahead.
This growing collaboration is a powerful example of what’s possible when vision, partnership, and faith come together. We’re confident that the seeds being planted through R4L in Togo will continue to bear fruit for generations.
The Reach4Life (R4L) programme continues to touch lives in powerful ways, especially across Compassion Togo’s Child and Youth Development Centres. As the programme grows, the stories emerging from the field are nothing short of inspiring:
“Children and youth have demonstrated remarkable growth in their attitudes and decision-making. A powerful example is Kossi, a young participant once known for his disobedience, who has now transformed and shows genuine respect toward his parents. Similarly, other youths who previously disregarded their teachers have developed a new sense of respect and appreciation for them.”
— Martine, Youth Volunteer
“A group of young people made a commitment to pursue a God-honouring approach to sexuality after responding to the call during the “Sexual Revolution” and the lesson on biblical sexuality. We are truly grateful to see this promise bearing fruit, following the teaching, nearly all of them have chosen to abandon premarital sexual activity to align their lives with biblical principles. This powerful transformation highlights the importance of the programme and the need to prioritize it if we desire lasting, visible results.”
— Patale, Project Director
“I feel like I have a weapon in my hands after reading the Reach4life book. It will allow me to fully live the life of Christ with my family. This is a treasure I found, and I must not have fun with it”
— Simtok, Youth Programme
These testimonies remind us why we do what we do. The collaboration between Compassion Togo and Biblica is a clear example of how strategic partnerships can bring lasting transformation. With a foundation rooted in Scripture and essential life skills, this initiative empowers young people to overcome challenges, make responsible decisions, and embrace a hopeful and promising future.
As we look to the future, we celebrate what God is already doing and we press on with hope, knowing there’s more to come. As Compassion Togo continues to strengthen its implementation of Reach4Life, the programme’s impact is set to expand, cultivating a generation of young leaders who are spiritually grounded, socially responsible, and equipped to break free from the cycle of poverty. This partnership is not only transforming individual lives but also paving the way for a brighter future for entire communities.
