Since Reach4Life (R4L) was first introduced in Ghana in 2018, nearly 100,000 books have been distributed, and the demand continues to grow. From schools to churches and youth clubs, the impact has been undeniable. Entire denominations are now asking for R4L to “come over to Macedonia and help us” (Acts 16:9).
One key partner is AWANA Ghana, which has been invited by the Anglican Church to implement R4L in all its high schools across the country, potentially reaching another 100,000 youth. Yet, despite this incredible opportunity, the supply of R4L books from Biblica had dwindled due to funding limitations, with only 21,000 books reaching Ghana over the past two years.
In response, R4L partners across Ghana came together to launch the Ghana R4L Project, a collaborative fundraising effort aimed at meeting the growing need. Biblica supported the initiative with training and a campaign, which culminated in a successful fundraising dinner held on October 26, 2024. We’re thrilled to report that the dinner raised $20,000, unlocking a $25,000 matching grant from a generous overseas R4L donor. Biblica Africa also contributed $20,000, bringing the total to $65,000!
Thanks to this collective effort, 52,000 new R4L books are now on the way: 42,000 in English and 10,000 in French. While most will be distributed in Ghana, some will also reach young people in Nigeria, Niger, Togo, and Burkina Faso.
Perhaps most encouraging of all, this effort has energized our partners to begin their own local fundraising. Together, we’ve not only answered a pressing need, but we’ve also sparked a movement.
To God be the glory!
